Legal
Privacy policy
This policy describes which personal data is processed during the free website check and for requests. Status: 22 October 2026.
1. Controller
The controller for the processing of personal data on this portal is Excite Digital Marketing LLC, 7901 4th St N, Suite 300, St. Petersburg, FL 33702, USA. Contact: info@barrierefreiheit.wiki. The full company details are in the legal notice.
2. Free website check
Purpose: Checking the public website you specify for selected technical barriers and then sending you the result.
Legal basis: Your consent under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR, which you give by requesting the check and confirming the report link.
Data processed: Website address, e-mail address, time of the request, the technical test results and a non-reversible hash form of your IP address for rate limiting. The website is fetched without passing your e-mail address to the browser service used.
Storage period: Unconfirmed requests expire after 48 hours, reports are deleted after 14 days. Access authorisation is transmitted via a random token in the URL fragment, which appears neither in server log files nor in referrer information.
Recipients: The checking process runs on our own infrastructure. The delivered HTML of the checked page is handed to a browser service for evaluation. Your e-mail address is not passed on to it.
3. Requests and offer requests
Purpose: Handling your request and preparing an individual offer.
Legal basis: Your consent under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR, or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR where the request serves to initiate a contract.
Data processed: Name, company name, e-mail address, optional phone number, website address, requested service, optional message, optional reference to the check report, and the selection made regarding privacy and advertising consent.
Recipients: The request is transmitted to the operator and handled there. The executing service provider receives it only to the extent that you commission a technical remediation. No data is passed on to third parties and no additional analytics or marketing services are used.
Storage period: Your request is stored for as long as it is needed to handle the matter, to initiate the contract or to comply with statutory retention obligations. Transmission takes place via the mail transport of our hosting provider.
4. Advertising and newsletters
The free check is expressly not a newsletter subscription. Your e-mail address is not added to a marketing list. The request form contains a separate, voluntary and unticked consent for information on accessibility and offers. This consent is not required to handle your request and can be withdrawn at any time.
5. Hosting and server log files
When this website is called, the hosting provider processes technically necessary access data in server log files. The storage period follows the statutory provisions and the terms of service of the provider.
6. External links
We link to original sources such as gesetze-im-internet.de, to provider websites and to the WCAG 2.2 specification. When you click a link you leave this portal; the respective provider is responsible for the content of the target page. No personal data is transmitted automatically in the process.
7. Your rights
You have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection.
The competent supervisory authority is the data protection authority responsible for the registered office of the controller. For questions on this policy please contact info@barrierefreiheit.wiki. An informal request for deletion is sufficient.
8. SSL/TLS encryption
This site uses TLS encryption for security reasons. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the https:// prefix at the beginning of the address bar.
9. Changes
This policy is adjusted as soon as changes to the processing or to the legal basis require it. The current version with its status date is on this page.
